Multiple Assessments + Initial Student Report, including assessments in:
- Reading
- Spelling
- Handwriting
- Comprehension
- Phonemic Awareness
Note: this screening is to determine if the student may benefit from structured language intervention. While some assessments will give grade-level equivalents as of the date of testing (a “snapshot” of the student’s capabilities on that day), this is not a screening for dyslexia. A licensed educational diagnostician or school psychologist is required to provide a formal diagnosis (or diagnoses).
Multiple weekly sessions include:
- Phonemic Awareness
- Sound/Symbol Associations
- Reading Techniques
- Cursive Letter Formations
- Handwriting Skills
- Syllabic Awareness
- Spelling Techniques
- Alphabetization
Each of these involves an Orton-Gillingham-based approach to multisensory instruction and practice, including auditory, visual, and/or kinesthetic and motor components.
Language intervention is customized to meet each student's individual needs. Lesson plans are reviewed daily to ensure students are progressing at the most rapid rate they are able while also retaining previously taught information.
- Vocabulary Comprehension
- Sentence Formation & Structure
Secondary services are included in regular sessions based on student needs, abilities, and time available.
*On-site services in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, and Rio Rancho may be available for an additional fee.
